Begins
One does not have to be a combat soldier or visit a refugee camp in Syria or the Congo to encounter trauma. Trauma happens to us, our friends, our families, and our neighbours.(van der Kolk, 2014)
Welcome to the Journey. This is not a travel guide, but a voyage inside a mind, notably my own. You are about to read about my journey through life and the experiences that have shaped me.
There is nothing notable about me, I’m just an ordinary geezer, rough around the edges, middle and most everywhere else. I have not done anything exceptional or achieved any greatness. I have, however, had a lot of jobs, a few girlfriends, three kids, one marriage, and more trauma than I ever wanted. So this is an honest, no-holds-barred trip through my mental health and how it affected those around me.
